Academic Interventionist - West

REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent for Academics and Family Services for programmatic oversight
Building Principal for day to day QUALIFICATIONS:
Required License
Valid Illinois Professional Educators License with Secondary Endorsement.
Required Knowledge and Abilities
Must be able to demonstrate academic progress of students under his/her leadership and articulate the methods used to achieve those results.
Must be able to use data to inform needed academic interventions.
Desired Experience or Training
Master's Degree; At least 5 years of successful high school teaching experience; Experience as an interventionist.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Principles, theories, methods, techniques and strategies pertaining to effective instruction.
Blended learning.

Instruction and Intervention
Manage the Blended Learning Center and work with individual students or small groups of students to provide educational interventions and progress monitoring.
Provide the high-quality instruction needed to move students to grade level proficiency.
Participate in universal screening activities and assist with the analysis of the data to identify students in need of targeted supports.
Work with school personnel in the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) process by assisting in determining Intervention Plan.
Implement the MTSS model of increasingly intense student interventions and monitor student progress according to prescribed procedures.
Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring to ensure process fidelity.
Maintain data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress during interventions.
Utilize tracking system to maintain lists of students participating in interventions.
Provide data to the school teams and participate in decisions about student progress.
Build strong, positive relationships with students and staff.
Maintain high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information.
Perform related duties and responsibilities as requested by the Assistant Superintendent for Academics and Family Services and School Principal.
Participation in collaborative team meetings to assist in the analysis and utilization of assessment data to improve the focus of instructional planning and student achievement.
Assists collaborative teams in setting goals for improved instruction and MTSS implementation.
Meets regularly with the department chairs and building administration to review established data points to assess student progress towards established instructional goals.
Prepare forms, records and reports as directed.
Participates in school and district level team meetings as directed.
Follow all rules, policies and procedures of Proviso Township High Schools along with state and federal regulations pertaining to school issues and ESSA.
Perform promptly the responsibilities stipulated in Board of Education policies and administrative procedures
Adhere to all personal absences procedures and provides appropriate plans and materials for use by the substitute
Model and enforce classroom and school rules, policies, and procedures; exemplify the district's mission and beliefs
Be punctual in arrival times to the building, to classes, and to meetings
Cooperate with other educational personnel
Implement recommendations made in the evaluation and supervisory process
Maintain the confidentiality of schools, teachers, and classrooms.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
